Press Release Summary: AMERICAN FACES LIVE VOLCANIC ERUPTION AND ARMED REBELS
Press Release Body: (SEATTLE, WA)-According to www.volcanolive.com, out of the 1,511 active volcanoes throughout the world, there are only fifty to sixty eruptions per year. With less than five percent of all active volcanoes erupting yearly, the chance of witnessing the occurrence live is not likely.
Throughout his travels across the seven continents, Gary Garner, world adventurer and author of the new book Through the Eyes of Madness, knew that he would encounter incredible obstacles, but being in the path of an erupting volcano was not part of his plan.
"At the time, I was traveling in Guatemala," says Garner. "The eruption cut the electricity to the ancient little domicile I was staying in, so I watched lava pour down the mountain from the relative safety of an antiquated wooden roof top. I made plans to hire a driver to take me up the mountain, where I could photograph the lava rivers more clearly but at the last minute, I had to abort. I received a report that armed Guerillas were blocking the roadway and later I learned how serious the threat really was."
This is only one of the many adventures Garner encountered as he traveled across the seven continents in search of a simpler life. He also experienced:
Witnessing a brutal murder on the South China Sea The wrath of an angry mob in the midst of a Nepalese civil war His own near-death at the heights of Mt. Everest Being ambushed and robbed in Costa Rica by very unusual suspects Countless other harrowing escapes that illustrate valuable and moving life lessons.
Fortunately, we get to go along for the ride, as Garner kept countless detailed journals and notes, and crafted amazing artwork along the way. The author's modern adventure tale is richly illustrated with scores of photos and illustrations.
Each chapter of his new book details his real life-and-death adventures as he continually put himself into situations that were seemingly un-survivable.
The book also has an intriguing twist: Garner has a mysterious surprise waiting for anyone who can decipher the encrypted codes in his journal, which point to physical clues planted around the world.
From beginning to end, the book is laced with a visual and mathematical secret code-but unlike its fictional cousins, this book's secret is very real.
"These past few years have been so fantastical and life-altering that even I have trouble believing it," admits Garner. "But that's why I kept the journals and constructed the book in the way that I did. Now, others can share in the adventure."
